Charity Doctor is a Limited Liability Partnership, based in London but working across the country. We are:
Chris Leigh
Chris is an experienced consultant specialising in work with the not for profit, with particular interest and expertise in sustainability, regeneration, early years, education, training, professional development, organisational development and strategic planning.
She has held senior leadership and management positions in voluntary organisations and social enterprises, including roles of Chief Executive and Chair. Chris has been involved in key developments in the sector including shaping quality improvement measures and performance indicators. Chris has also been instrumental in setting up innovative flagship projects including the East London Childcare Institute and new charities and social enterprises. Chris is currently a trustee of a women and construction social enterprise.
Eric Appleby
Eric is an experienced consultant specialising in work with the voluntary sector, but drawing on experience that encompasses the public, voluntary and private sectors.
He has held senior positions in the key voluntary sector bodies, having been Chair of the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO) and a trustee of NCVO. Eric has been involved in crucial developments in the sector, including approaches to quality, outcome measurement and the establishment of the Collaborative Working Unit. He is Chair of the ChangeUp National Hub of Expertise on Performance and is a trustee of two other charities. In 2000 Eric was given the Charity Awards overall award for Excellence in Charity Management.
Sally Carr
Sally is an experienced consultant specialising in work with the voluntary sector, with expertise in fundraising, evaluation, strategic planning and performance coaching.
She was actively involved in the introduction and development of rights-based advocacy now widely used by people with disabilities, establishing key local and national voluntary sector organisations in which she held senior leadership and management roles. She is Vice-Chair of the Voluntary Sector Forum and a trustee of a women-led charity supporting those affected by domestic violence.
Sue Baker
Sue has been a freelance consultant for 7 years working with small and medium sized third sector organisations and within health. Focusing principally on facilitating strategic review and planning and organisational change Sue brings considerable cutting edge knowledge and experience of the health policy agenda to building capacity to respond to health commissioning requirements.
Sue is a Non-Executive Director for a PCT and Vice Chair of a Children & Young People’s Strategic Partnership. She is also a Healthcare Commission Associate and EATA Accreditation Scheme Panel Member. Until recently Chair of Muswell Hill Churches and currently serving as a board member for Rugby House ARP and senior advisor to other consultancies. Sue has an MA in Business and Public Sector Strategy from Kingston University.
